  • October 9-12th, 2014 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion Tickets & more info: http://bit.ly/UfJPzt Swan Lake, one of the most beloved and recognized ballets of all time, comes to Los Angeles this October with a new production from The Australian Ballet. Set to Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s immortal score, and performed by live orchestra, Graeme Murphy’s Swan Lake captures the passion, romance and magic of the classic ballet in a way that’s both refreshingly original and reverently classical. This engagement of Swan Lake has a special significance to Los Angeles as well. In 1966 — barely a year after the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion opened — The Music Center presented Rudolf Nureyev and Margot Fonteyn with The Australian Ballet on the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion stage. Now, in celebration of The Music Center’s 50th Anniversary, Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center is thrilled to bring back the legendary dance company with their critically acclaimed re-imagining of the classical ballet Swan Lake. The Australian Ballet is the national ballet company in Australia. Founded in 1962, with the English-born dancer, teacher, Dame Peggy van Praagh as its artistic director. Now under the guidance of Artistic Director David McAllister, The Australian Ballet presents a diverse mix of ballets every year. The dancers regularly make us gasp in wonder at the prowess of the human body in motion. But their athleticism is tempered with an aesthetic regard for the quality of the movement and its ability to communicate emotion. The company is recognized as one of the world's major international ballet companies. Watch ›

  • In the weeks leading up to National Ballet of Canada's Romeo & Juliet this month, we hosted a fun series on Instagram called #CapuletInTheCity, in which we posted pictures of Juliet Capulet all over Los Angeles, as she made her way from the coast to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Well, the show is long over, but we're still pretty smitten with our Juliet snaps around the city. So here's a little throwback to earlier this month, with a little behind the scenes film we made of #CapuletInTheCity! Watch ›
